Pen Spinning World Cup 2020 - Malaysia Team

Hi

This time I will be talking about Pen Spinning World Cup.

In pen spinning, we have three big tournaments named, Pen Spinning World Tournament, Pen Spinning World Cup and Pen Spinning Olympics.

I will talk about World Tournament and Olympics in a later post.

I don't know how to put it into words but me and my pen spinning mates are taking part in The Pen Spinning World Cup 2020. I don't know how this tournament is going to be and how it will affect us in terms of improvements.

We have been grinding hard ever since the WC20 announcement on Twitter and last night I submitted our names to the committee.

These are the names that are involved in WC20:

  • Aiman
  • Xelphire
  • EffecT
  • Domin1c*
  • Cynithor
  • Fung
I will be acting as the team manager and also as a competitor. EffecT will be acting as the video reviewer before we submit our videos and Fung will be on standby just in case one of us could not make it due to some issue.

Back to WC20, this is the first time our community entered World Cup as a Malaysia team. Back in 2012 we had Alvaris represented Malaysia but he's in a mixed community team, named KMSC (Korea-Malaysia-Spanish Community).

World Cup is a team and theme based tournament. That means in order to advanced to the next round, one team need to win majority of the battles.

For the first round, it will be in the form of battle royale among every teams but only Top 8 teams will be advanced to the quarter final onwards.

From quarter final onward, the battles will be between 2 communities for them to advanced to the next round all the way to the final. From this round onward, the battle will be theme based where there are few categories will be competed based on the draws by the managers.

These are the themes and it is further divided into sub-theme (I will be linking the sub-theme to the video, just click the word and it will redirect you to YouTube). These might not be the best examples but they're one of my favorite:

Difficulty

Execution

Duo (Doubles)

Wish us luck for the tournament! We will give our all.

Thank you for taking your time to read this post :)
