World Cup Round 1 Results and Comments on APST Overall Performance
Hello.
This is another post by me. World Cup 2020 is out, click here if you wish to see the results and Round 2 matchups.
Unfortunately, my team are not able to advance to the second round. This makes me feel kind of disappointed but I try to look at the positive side. Some of the judges pointed out what is lacking in our combos and gave constructive comments on them. I appreciate it. I should learn from my mistakes and improve my spinning again.

Some of the judges pointed out what is lacking in our combos and gave constructive comments on them. I appreciate it. I should learn from my mistakes and improve my spinning again.
The teams that is able to advance to Round to are:
- Dawn Wanderer (JEB)
- Ultimate Rookies (JEB)
- Nin Jion (PSH)
- OldEight (PSH)
- W (PHPS)
- UPSB
- X (FPSB)
- Ricefield (VNPSC + THPSC)
Congratulations to them and everyone that joined.
I don't know why but JEB have a very high chance of winning the tournament. Let's go with the flow and see what happens next.
Let me breakdown on my team's overall performance. Feel free to discuss with me if you are not agree with my opinion.
Aiman (myself):
Probably having the weakest combo among all. I need more link variations and proper planning on my combos. If it is not because of the time constraint, I believe I could've done better. Initially, I was planning on doing a full wiper combo but my wiper variations are still limited and hence, I mixed it with normal spinning. I'm going to venture into this kind of spinning in the future.
EffecT:
Probably one of the best power player in Malaysia in my opinion. He could do hard linkages and makes it flashy even with the hard execution. For his R1 combo, I think it is clear and visible. Kinda love the aerials and difficult links. His hiccup is probably his tempo on certain links. Would love to see his improvements in powers and linkages.
Xelphire:
I love that counter combo. Looks sick and I believe you put a lot of efforts on perfecting it. I never seen anyone in our community using full black background spinning yet. Overall I love your spinning and the combo construction. There's a minor hiccup but it is very minor in my opinion. As the judges say, the fps problem is a thing. But that does not bother me much since I still can see what you are spinning.
Cynithor:
A well constructed combo. Good stuff, complex link and good execution. You're in your own class. I'd say your style is rather unique compared to aesthetic. When one of the judges said that you have autofocus problem, I couldn't find it anywhere. Probably I missed it or the autofocus is very minor. Otherwise it's good. Also, clean setup and the background goes well with your spinning.
Domin1c*:
Our 1 year prodigy. I gotta commend his finger cross twisted sonic. I have expectation on you in the future. I believe you can push yourself beyond yourself today. I don't have much comment on you, but you're one of our gems in MYPSC. Hope to see you joining World Tournament next year.
That's my comment on my team for this tournament. We've done our best. This is just our stepping stone to bigger thing in our community. Keep spinning, everyone. We'll come back stronger! Thank you for being a part of the team. You guys are the best :P Hope to see you guys competing in the future.
